13th Month Pay Calculator (2026)
Worked a partial month? Pick the nearest whole month — legally, 13th month is based on total basic salary actually earned ÷ 12.
How 13th month pay is computed
Under Presidential Decree 851, all rank-and-file employees who worked at least one month during the calendar year are entitled to 13th month pay, due not later than December 24. The formula is simple:
13th Month Pay = Total basic salary earned during the year ÷ 12
"Basic salary" excludes allowances, overtime, holiday premium and night differential. If your salary changed during the year, add up what you actually earned each month and divide by 12 — this calculator assumes a constant salary for simplicity.
Prorated 13th month pay
Resigned, were terminated, or just started this year? You still get a proportionate 13th month: the same formula, counting only the months you actually worked. Someone earning ₱20,000 who worked 5 months gets ₱20,000 × 5 ÷ 12 = ₱8,333.33.
Is 13th month pay taxable?
13th month pay and "other benefits" (Christmas bonus, incentives) are tax-exempt up to ₱90,000 combined. Only the amount above ₱90,000 is added to your taxable income. Details in our 13th month tax guide.
Frequently asked questions
When is 13th month pay released in the Philippines?
Employers must pay it on or before December 24 of each year. Many companies release half in June and half in December — that's allowed, as long as the full amount is paid by December 24.
Who is entitled to 13th month pay?
All rank-and-file employees in the private sector who worked at least one month during the calendar year, regardless of position, status (regular, probationary, contractual) or how they are paid. Managerial employees are not covered by PD 851, though many companies extend it voluntarily.
Is 13th month pay the same as a Christmas bonus?
No. 13th month pay is required by law; a Christmas bonus is voluntary. Both count toward the ₱90,000 tax-exempt ceiling.
Do resigned employees get 13th month pay?
Yes — a prorated amount based on the basic salary earned before leaving, normally released with your final pay.
